Ensure Long-Term Soil Health By Grooming With A Selection Of Conditioners.
A soil conditioner is a product which is added to soil to improve the soil’s physical qualities, usually its fertility (ability to provide nutrition for plants) and sometimes its mechanics. In general usage, the term “soil conditioner” is often thought of as a subset of the category dry amendments, which more often is understood to include a wide range of fertilizers and non-organic materials.
Soil conditioners can be used to improve poor soils, or to rebuild soils which have been damaged by improper soil management. They can make poor soils more usable, and can be used to maintain soils in peak condition.
See the below list for some of the Soil Conditioners we sell and mix into our custom soil & amendement blends.
A good soil amendment, chicken manure adds organic matter and increases the water holding capacity and beneficial biota in soil.
Dairy compost has good amounts of organic matter which enables it to loosen soil, adding tilth and increasing the water holding capacity. This choice of a compost also adds biology in as much as is available from the feedstock used to make the compost (manure, straw, and woodchips)
Fibergro Shredded Yucca to add fibers to your soil.
Lava rock is often used to retain moisture in plant soil.
Crater Lake volcanic material holds water and nutrients while increasing soil porosity.
Mushroom compost is a nutrient-filled blend of straw, peat, gypsum and other organic products.
Royal Gold Worm Castings are a quality soil amendment used to improve soil texture and drainage while adding a small amount of organic nutrients. Often sold by the tote, we can mix some into any custom blend Humboldt Ag makes!
